Non-Profit Partner: Save the Children
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce Save the Children as the non-profit partner for this year’s Yale Model United Nations Conference. In the U.S. and around the world, Save the Children gives children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. In 2017, the global humanitarian organization reached more than 155 million children in 120 countries around the world and has been at the forefront of combating juvenile suffering in many of the world’s most disastrous humanitarian conflicts.
Whether delivering vital food stuffs to 2.7 million Syrian children in refugee camps, educating nearly 7000 Congolese teen girls about reproductive health and gender equality, or providing sanitary and hygienic relief for Rohingya refugee children who fled to Bangladesh, Save the Children has been at the vanguard of combating juvenile suffering in many of the world’s most vicious humanitarian conflicts.
Throughout our conference, Save the Children will be interactively engaging with groups of delegates in various formats to show them both the importance of their work and the true merits of humanitarianism. In keeping to YMUN’s mantra, “Learn today, lead tomorrow,” Save the Children’s partnership with Yale’s Model UN conference represents a joint commitment to providing all children with the tools necessary to “lead tomorrow.”
We encourage you to learn more about our non-profit partner on their website.
