Global Exchange Program

The Global Exchange Program (GEP) presents the opportunity for YMUN delegates to interact with distinguished Yale faculty in small seminar formats. Each year, the GEP has a different theme that relates to the work of both the professors leading a specialized seminar and the keynote speaker. In order to facilitate personalized discussion, the program requires an application and typically selects 25-35 applicants. The GEP provides an opportunity not only for YMUN delegates to learn from and get to know the same faculty as Yale students, but also to get to know fellow delegates from all over the world.

This year’s GEP will take place on Friday, January 19, during Yale Day. Instead of attending lectures and other Yale Day activities, GEP participants will spend the full day (until committee sessions) with their fellow participants and the GEP speakers.

YMUN 50 GEP Theme

Decoding Diplomacy: International Relations in a Tech Driven World

Technology and development have come together in this time of ongoing transformation and global conflict. This year’s GEP theme centers around the idea that technology plays an increasingly crucial role on the world stage. The seminars aim to showcase the effects of innovation on the economic, political, and social institutions of nations. Our conference will unite academics, policymakers, and leaders in their fields to explore the dynamic and unfolding impact of technology on global development. From A.I. to media to green technologies, spanning areas from law to healthcare, GEP will dive into the role that advancements and innovations have in the world of international relations.
